Editing: None of the photos I send can be edited by clients (except for cropping to fit printing needs), including both RAW and edited photos. I send the RAW files for you to pick your favorites for me to edit, but you are not allowed to share, post, print, or use them for any purpose other than showing me which pictures you want. You are more than welcome to use the final edited photos for any of the previously listed purposes after I share the gallery with you! I take pride in the photos we create together and want to make sure they accurately reflect my work when they're shared with the world! My editing style is part of why you hired me in the first place! I'm happy to edit out TEMPORARY imperfections (things like zits, hair in your face, or smudged makeup), but I do not alter your body's PERMANENT appearance (birthmarks, body shape, eye color, etc). You are beautiful just the way you are, and we want to create photos to showcase that!
Loss of Files: I take multiple precautions to avoid file corruption/loss of photos, but there is always a small chance of it happening despite my best efforts. In this case, we would retake the photos without additional charges to either party. After the final photos are sent to you, I am no longer legally responsible for keeping backups, so I suggest creating your own. This could mean keeping photos on multiple phones, flash drives, or google photos. That being said, I do keep all the photos I take for as long as possible. Don't hesitate to reach out if you lose your photos, and I will happily send them again if possible!
Photo Credit/Tagging: As the photographer, I retain legal ownership of the photos, even after they're shared with you. That being said, you are more than welcome to post, print, or share them for personal use! I ask that you tag me/give credit whenever appropriate since it's how I grow my business! I appreciate everyone who does this, and strive to provide an experience you WANT to share with others! I often use client photos on my website and Instagram to promote my business. If you are uncomfortable with your pictures being shared, please let me know beforehand so I can respect your wishes. After pictures are posted, it's unlikely that I will be able to remove them, so give me as much notice as possible.
I require that photo credit is given to moments.by.emmery if the photos are being used for monetary gain/advertisements.
Cancelations/Rescheduling: A 50% deposit is required to claim a date for your shoot, which becomes non-refundable a week before the shoot. I try to be as flexible as possible with rescheduling, but it becomes less likely as we get closer to the shoot. Since I'm working and going to school, I may have to reschedule on rare occasions, but I will give you as much notice as possible! If the weather becomes a problem, we will try to reschedule for the closest day. If my availability is limited, we'll make the most of the weather we have, or you can rent a studio space for your shoot!
